Ah Jersey Shore.

It’s like a car crash, you just have to look.

Which makes me wonder…

…Is there more closet Twilight fans or people who love Jersey Shore?

I think it’s too close to call.

And what about Snooki?

You’ve gotta love that girl. She’s awkward, adorable, and just a little bit broken.

She’s like a teeny lost kitten you find on the street. You want to take her home and care for her. But at the same time, you know eventually she’s going to trash your leather couch.

But you’re OK with that.

Snooki, the ultimate guidette, gets a bad rap.

But I think, if you take a moment to look a little deeper, you may be surprised by what you find.

4 Secrets To Living Your Life To The Fullest That I Learned From Snooki

1) Be You

“I’m not pissed off that they put pickles under my bed as a joke, but I’m pissed off that Mike and Pauly wasted two pickles.” ~ Snooki

Whether it’s her love of pickles, her big hair, or her trucker mouth, Snooki is Snooki through and through.

What you see is what you get.

She had the courage to get on national TV and just be herself.

When was the last time that you gave yourself permission to do the same?

2) Know What You Want

“My ideal man would be Italian, dark, muscles, juice-head, guido.” ~ Snooki

“My ultimate dream is to move to Jersey, find a nice juiced hot tanned guy and live my life.” ~ Snooki

Snooki is always on the prowl. But the big thing here is that she’s taken the time to identify what she wants. She’s got a clear picture of her ideal man and her perfect life.

What does your ideal life look like? Where are you living? What are you doing? How does your day unfold? If you’re looking for your soul mate what are the qualities they posses? What do they look like?

Snooks has created the ideal vision for her life. Take a moment to sit down and really think about what it is you want your life to look like.

3) Harpoon Those Opportunities When They Come

“It doesn’t leave your face greasy, and there’s no bad smell to it like other spray tans. I never used spray tanners until this one because I usually just went tanning. But you know after the taxing, you don’t want to deal with that, and friggin’ cancer—so this is a great product to replace all the bad stuff of tanning.” ~ Snooki

She’s already endorsed a spray tan product line and I’ve read that she’s in talks with her managers about a line of hair products, a book deal, and probably her own reality spin-off show.

There’s a saying, “Don’t wait for your ship to come in – swim out to it”

I’m not sure if she can swim, but Snooki’s really harpooning the opportunities from the shores of her new found fame.

Do the same for your life.

Now I don’t want you to be all, “Well it must be nice to have your own reality show. That’s why she’s getting all these deals.”

There’s opportunities everywhere.

Sometimes you’ve got to hunt them down.

And Snooki’s smart. She’s working within her niche. Choosing products that she actually uses and believes in. She is her own market.

So what are the problems that you have in your life? Is there any good solutions out there for them? If not why not create your own? And if there are some pretty good products out there why not use your influence to introduce them to your clique?

4) Try New Things

“I feel like I’m in the twilight zone right now.” ~ Snooki

Rachel Ray and the Jersey Shore girls. I would’ve never thought to put the two of them together. But they did and it was a huge success. Heck I stopped flipping the channels to tune in and I never watch that show. But I do think Rachel is adorable.

Rachel had the girls on the show for a make-under. Normally you see make-over shows. But since the Shore girls are pretty wild with their looks they figured seeing Snookums, JWoww, and Sammi toned down would be more of a shocker.

And it was.

Snooki hated her look. But she was game enough to give it a try.

When was the last time you tried something new?

You don’t have to do big changes. You can start small. Like try taking a new way home from work. If you usually read fiction try non-fiction. Or if you usually go out for Indian food try Italian instead.

Switch things up every so often. Get out there and test your limits. Challenge yourself to push past your boundaries. You never know what you’ll discover.

Are you surprised that all this wisdom was gleaned from Snooki?

Who would’ve thunk that behind all the make-up and cussing was a girl who may actually know a thing or two about life?

We have begun to expand our awareness and our own conceptions of ourselves. Finding a new found freedom in those moments where our simple, everyday concerns dissolve into worlds far greater than our own.

Many people are starting to experience this within their dreams. Meeting friends, family and loved ones there. Sometimes foreseeing what’s to come in their future. At times working out karmic issues.

Some people can do this consciously.

They have tapped into the universal grid of awareness. This infinite field of connectivity that binds us all.

We have begun to see that the true world has no boundaries.

There is only one race, the human race. And our concepts about ourselves are being expanded. We’re moving beyond the limiting constructs of the past and embracing a new future that is fully present in this magical moment.

We’re all bound in oneness.

Connected in a dance of life.

This awareness usually starts small.

A feeling that someone is staring at you and when you turn around someone is.

You think of someone and they call.

You have a dream and it comes true.

Or maybe a heightened sense of intuition or knowing. A knowing that goes beyond words.

A reconnection with nature begins as well. We start to see the beauty of the world once more. The magic in the simplest of moments. And the fragile web of life that we’re all a part of.

The new world is a meeting of the heart, because love is blind to all appearances and seeks to come in contact with the true aspect of our source. A presence grounded in love.

A true wisdom that we’re all connected to each other is becoming apparent. But the depth of that awareness is just beginning to take root within us all. A knowledge that runs naked and free. Unashamed of its beauty.

For we now realize that our hearts do beat as one. Our fears of each other are completely unfounded. That the only way to survive is to work with each other in harmony. That we CAN make a difference and our efforts DO effect all the world.

We have found the healing hands of the angels and realized that they are our own. And we are beginning to know that when we reach out those hands we’re really reaching out to ourselves.

Our compassion is what binds us to all the world.

Learning From The Mayan Elders

“In Lak’ech Ala K’in”, is an ancient Mayan greeting that’s just amazing. A modern day translation would be “I am another you.” Another way that it’s interpreted would be the traditional Mayan understanding, “I am you and you are me.”

Use this wisdom as you create the life of your dreams. Work toward benefiting others and truly you will benefit yourself.

Connect With The Field Of Consciousness

Above I mentioned a process that we carelessly overlook. A sacred calling that beckons us all the time,

• You feel drawn to eat a certain type of food — Eat it
• Your waiting for the bus — Guess what time it’ll come
• Your waiting for your friend — Guess what they’ll be wearing

This is a very simple process that if you stick to it for about six months you’ll be completely amazed at the magical worlds that open up to you.

The Four Choosing Types

Sit back and relax. Drift through your memories and try to think of the last time you made an honest and conscious choice. How did that choice make you feel?

Did you feel pressured to make a choice?

Did you choose to go against what your heart and gut were trying to tell you?

Did you put off choosing until the last possible moment?

Are you one of those people who feel lost when you have to choose?

Robert F. Bennet said that, “Your life is the sum result of all the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously. If you can control the process of choosing, you can take control of all aspects of your life. You can find the freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself.”

As you read further and discover the Four Choosing Types you’ll realize that at any given moment each of us chooses how to choose.

What you’ll probably realize and already know deep down inside is that when you choose thoughts that are worthy of you, thoughts that lift you high, thoughts that feel good, all of your life responds to that resonant frequency.

The more you begin to wield your mighty power to choose is the more power that you’ll be given and the more choices that’ll be offered to you.

Choosing Type 1)

This is a person who goes through life letting other people shape their destiny. Influenced by either family or society as a whole, these people never really get to know themselves and what may actually make them feel happy and alive. They give all their power away.

Choosing Type 2)

Many others take a passive process toward their life, going with the flow and accepting mediocrity as the norm. These same people will take the time and energy to complain about the state of their lives, always dreaming about what could have been, but never mustering up the courage to actually pursue their dreams.

Choosing Type 3)

While other people can feel their potential and dream of a new way of living but are afraid to take the next step, letting unfounded fear shackle them forever in a vicious cycle of pain and misery.

Choosing Type 4)

And finally there are the brave and courageous few who intuitively choose what’s best for them and seek out opportunities to make the tough choices in their lives. Choices that transform them. Decisions that are in harmony with their chosen  purpose and lead them forward through their journey here on this planet.

Nothing is fixed. Everything’s evolving. All things are in a constant state of becoming. You, me and even the stars.

We forget that sometimes.

Becoming rigid in our views of the world, each other and even ourselves.

But this life is mere putty. To be shaped by a set of skilled hands that are our own.

This is what we must remember.

That we make ourselves into whatever it we choose.

This is the blessing and sometimes the curse of freewill. We have the power to direct our thoughts, words, emotions, actions and press our will upon the formless realms of existence. This then gives rise to form. Giving birth to ourselves.

Change happens in the unseen realms of our lives. With each choice that we make we collapse potentiality into reality. The images that we hold within our minds and hearts get outpictured into our lives.

Life is but a feedback loop of the process that is happening within you.

So how can we transform our lives and use this inherent power that is within us?

• Meditate daily. Just set aside a little time and focus on your breath
• Take an extra moment to tune into your inner self when your about to choose
• Take five minutes to reflect on your day
• Substitute thoughts of good and bad for skillful and unskillful

• Have fun. Laugh, play and give thanks for the miracle that is your life.

Little changes can and do lead to big results.

2 Hours A Day To Become Picaso

There’s a theory that gets bounced around in business and self-help books. It’s the; “10,000 Hours To Become A Master At Something Theory”

At first blush everyone’s usual response is, “Who that’s a lot of time.”

Well yes and no.

Let’s chunk it down a little: Say you devoted 2 hours a day to becoming totally awesome at something. I mean like Wayne Gretzky or Pablo Picaso kind of awesome. How many years do you think it’d take you to get that gold star?

Just a little over 13 years to become amazingly awesome at something.

So if you woke up an hour early and watched 1 hour less of TV a day you could be one of the best in the world at something.

It really helps if you like that something. It’ll give you that stick with it power.

But just imagine if you took something that you loved, were naturally gifted at and you worked on it for just two hours a day.

Within the blink of an eye…BLAMMO! You’re the most stupendous cheese sculpture in the world.

Here’s 6 Simple Ways To Be Totally Awesome At Something

1) Start it
2) Do it
3) Do it more
4) Get feedback from people who know more than you
5) Do it even more
6) Continually look for ways to improve

The best part about this is that if you’re doing something that you love the 10,000 hours will just slip by.

As we begin the new year let’s make it a time where we finally decide to ignore all the “should’s” in our lives. Let’s let go of resolutions and let’s develop resolve. A fortitude to forgive ourselves for all our self-criticisms. A determination to develop a deeper wellspring of joy and happiness. And a courage to boldly bring into existence the dreams that silently sleep within our hearts.

7 Wishes For The New Year

• May we have the courage to accept and be at peace with what is.
• May we find the joy in imagining what “could” be.
• May we take a moment to reflect on the year past.
• May we have the knowledge to give thanks for everything that we experienced.
• May we see the perfection in every outcome.
• May we be motivated to change because we want to not because we feel guilted to.
• And may we realize that as we grow we show others the greatness that’s within them as well.

So as this new year begins find a moment to be with yourself. Take stock of where you’ve been, where you are and where you want to be. Realize that the power lies in the present moment so strive to become present to the presence of the mystery hidden within this very moment of your existence.

Three Reasons Why New Years Resolutions Don’t Work

1. They’re conceived around what we “should” be doing. So they are always born from a place of guilt.
2. They’re implemented at the wrong time of year. We’re too tired at the start of the year to give them a real go.
3. They’re never built around a plan of action. We stumble or way through them without having created a course of action.

When we look at the root meaning of the word resolution a different picture emerges than the one we have conditioned ourselves to. The root meaning of Resolution bring forth the concepts of, “A breaking into parts.” a “process of reducing things into simpler forms.” or to “loosen.”

So if you feel compelled to draft up a series of new years resolutions that you’re determined to put in place as the clock strikes twelve then please take your inspiration from the root meaning of the word resolution and:

Three Tips To Help You If You Really Want Make New Years Resolution

• Break your plans into smaller parts. Tackle them one at a time.
• Simplify the process. A leads to B leads to C. (Or maybe even choose goals that simplify your life.)
• Try to develop resolutions that loosen the burdens in your life, not add to them.

SNOWFLAKES: A Winters Tale

It was a cold winters night and a silent blanket of snow was covering the lands. A young Father and his son were in the yard behind their modest and humble home, hand in mitt, they were silhouettes of the night.

The two of them gazing up at the first star of the evening.

A gentle snow was falling and they closed their eyes breathing in this moment.

“Dad, why is there snow?”

And with eyes closed, his sons mitted hand in his, this is what the Father said that night,

“Snow is a reminder of the people in our lives. They are each made from the essence of life, carried through the spirit of our dreams and made manifest in the world we call home.

“Each and every one of them is formed and shaped with their own shimmering beauty. They are then set free into this world, when the proper time arrives, and the currents of their fate sweep them this way and that.

“Unknown are the forces that carry them through their journey to you.

“Some have been tossed about by the strong winds of destiny and struggled hard to be with you. While others find their way to you effortlessly and with ease. Like the snow that’s falling tonight.

“Gently gliding, tenderly falling, finding their place beside and all around you.

“But for most snowflakes, and friends, they have experienced a bit of both. And once they have fallen into your life don’t think it’s by some mere chance that they have come there.

“All you have to do is remember the distance between you and the clouds and think of space they have traveled to meet with you on your journey. How far they have come to share this moment with you.

“And as the snow can bring so many things to a person’s life, more can friendship bring.

“Snow is that small reminder that there are friends with you always, and that they have traveled from far away places and fought much to be with you.

“And as most of our days are spent being busy attending to the matter of things, we are lucky enough, from time to time, to have a moment like now. Where we can stop and think of friends, look to them, and love them each for their unique beauty and magic that they bring to your life.

“Remember, as with snow, so to is it with friends, that in their own time and season they will melt away to unveil new beauty within you and your world.

“Know in these instances, in those brief moments, you are one with them all and they’ve melted into the very essence of your heart.”

And his son, proud that his father was so wise, felt a little warmer inside.

And with his fathers’ mitted hand in his, they went back to gazing at the first star of the night.

A gentle snow was falling and they closed their eyes breathing in this moment.

Somewhere deep inside of us there has to be some sort of progression gene. Something that spurs us on to becoming better aspects of ourselves. We can feel it’s presence when life starts to feel dull and boring.

But the problem is that we really don’t like to change. We think we do but we don’t. We hate it. Even fight and rage against it. We’re lazy creatures if we’re allowed to be.

Who wouldn’t want to be on a beach somewhere relaxing right now?

But in the end, whether we like it or not, life keeps moving forward. Change is a constant within the universe. One that we really try hard to ignore.

So how can we really tackle the whole self-improvement thing then?

If we really don’t like to turn off the Vampire Diaries, get up off the couch and do those sit-ups or read that book is there something out there that can make this process a little bit easier on us?

I think there is…

It’s called Kaizen, which is usually translated as “improvement” or in the business circles as “continuous improvement”.

Toyota adopted this philosophy. Even Anthony Robbins based his CANI (Constant and Never-Ending Improvement) method around the Kaizen philosophy.

Dr. Robert Maurer, a psychologist and author says the Kaizen philosophy is simple and easy to apply. “Great change is made through small steps.”

In his book “One Small Step Can Change Your Life: The Kaizen Way” he lays out some techniques like:

• Ask small questions
• Think smaller thoughts
• Take small actions
• Solve small problems
• Give small rewards
• Recognize the small mistakes before they become big ones

It’s always good to dream big. The elaborate and vivid visions of your future will compel you to burst through the atmosphere of your own inertia. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty of change and making it easy for ourselves it seems that small doses of it may be best.

So start small. Start now. Start to become an inspirational life.
