Four forcesThe Four Forces That Guide Us

Paulo Coelho, the best selling author of the Alchemist, and one of my greatest inspirations, believes that there are four forces that guide us through our lives.

Well, that’s what Maureen believes. She’s one of the main characters in his new book, “The Winner Stands Alone”.

You see Maureen has a dream, and to achieve that dream she turns to the four forces that have always guided her.

The four forces being: love, death, power and time.

“She needed to purify her soul, and so she turned to the four forces that had always guided her: love, death, power, and time. We must love because we are loved by God. We must be conscious of death if we are to have a proper understanding of life. We must struggle in order to grow, but without falling into the trap of the power we gain through that struggle, because we know that such power is worthless. Finally we must accept that our eternal soul is, at this moment, caught in the web of time with all its opportunities and its limitations.”

The Four Forces

Love is a power that lifts us high and makes us strong. It is blind to the whims of the world and has it own rules. It seeks expression. And the world withers when it is withheld from its presence.

Everything that’s born owes a death. And it’s death that helps us appreciate life. Helping us to realize that we stand ever present to our own annihilation. That at any moment it can all be over. So why wait for tomorrow when tomorrow may never come. So seize this day and make it yours.

The greatest power that we can wield is the power over ourselves. Self-control is the master key that enables us to harness the amazing potential that sleeps within us.

Time. We waste it, kill it and watch it go by. Never truly realizing that there is a limit to it. And those limits should help to give us focus. That focus will help us sift through the sands of our lives to discover what truly matters to us. And once we have uncovered that mystery we can then use the time that we have wisely. Making sure that the tic of the clock works in our favor. Helping us use time to express those dreams that we’ve been entrusted with. For each of us has a song to sing.

It’s interesting to note that the number four is usually associated with wholeness, foundations, earth, and order.

So what are the forces that guide you?

Be Inspirational!
