Sharing Happiness

How To Be Happy Through The Power of Sharing

We all know someone like this. Maybe it’s you. But when this person shows up in your life you know it.

How?

Because you feel happy.

For me this magical and powerful person’s name is Bill.

Bill works two jobs. One of them in an Aids care facility.

And anyone who meets him will feel his resonant joy, love and happiness.

So what’s Bill’s secret to being happy?

I think Norman MacEwan summed it up perfectly when he said, “Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

And Bill is a giver. Continue Reading…

Growth

Ian Paul Marshall —  November 6, 2009 — 2 Comments

grwth“Life needs continuous growth. The moment you stop its growth, it starts dying. So go into the world full of songs, full of dance and abundant love, and give it unconditionally, without any judgment, to anybody who is receptive — and you will go on growing in the experience both deeper and higher.” OSHO

Lovers are the greatest givers. Giving their love. Giving themselves. Sharing their life. Moving and being moved by the motion of their hearts.

When we begin to fall in love we enter into a stage of accelerated growth. We expand our lives and live as if each moment of existence has grasped our hands tightly, and worried that the moment will pass us by, we hold on as fiercely as we can.

When we love we tap into the ever bountiful depths of existence. Which is a secret place hidden Continue Reading…

Utilizing The Law of Attraction

by Jack Canfield

loa

The law of attraction states that you will attract into your life–whether wanted or unwanted–whatever you give your energy, focus, and attention to.

You are constantly giving off vibrations of energy when you think and feel. These vibrations can be picked up and received by other people. That’s why people say, “he has good vibes,” or “he gives off bad vibes.” You are constantly giving off vibrations — literally!

If you’re feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, loving, appreciative, abundant, prosperous, relaxed and peaceful, you are giving off positive vibrations.

9.9.09

9.9.09

So some people believe the date 9.9.09 is significant.

Lot’s of 9′s going on there. Even if you add up the three nines you get a nine. 9+9+9=27 Twenty-seven is then broken down 2+7=9.

My friend Sarah on facebook said, “Check it out: September 9, 2009, is the 252nd day of the year, 252 adds to 9, . 09-09-09 is also the last of the single-digits dates for quite a while – 92 years to be precise. The day itself falls on a Wednesday and both Wednesday & September have 9 letters.”

Interesting.

I couldn’t find my numerology book so I did some poking around online and found some cool info about the number nine.

Nine (9)
Source: Crystalinks

Nine is composed of the all-powerful 3×3.

It is the Triple Triad – Completion; fulfillment; attainment; beginning and the end; the whole number; a celestial and angelic number – the Earthly Paradise.

It is the number of the circumference, its division into 90 degrees and into 360 for the entire circumference.

Nine is symbolized by the two triangles which are a symbol of male, fire, mountain and female, water, cave principles.

Cultural References

Buddhist tradition holds nine to be the supreme spiritual power, and a celestial number.

Celtic legend symbolizes nine as a highly significant number. It is a central number with the eight directions with the center making nine. The Triple Goddesses are thrice three. There are nine Celtic maidens and nine white stones that symbolize the nine virgins attendant on Bridgit. Nine is connected with the Beltane Fire rites which are attended by 81( 8+ 1= 9) men, nine at a time.

Chinese: Nine is qa celestial power. It is 3×3 being the most auspicious of all the numbers. Nine also signifies the eight directions with the center as the ninth point known as the Hall of Light. There are nine great social laws and classes of officials. In land divisions for Feng Shui there are eight exterior squares for cultivation of the land by holders and the central, and ninth, square is a “god’s acre”, dedicated to Shang-ti, the supreme ruler. It is also known as the Emperor’s Field, giving homage and respect denoting the position of heavenly power.

Christian: Nine is one of the numbers that appears scantly in Christian symbolism. There are the triple triads of choirs of angels and nine spheres and nine rings around hell.

Egyptian mythology nine represents The Ennead.

Graeco-Roman: There are nine Gods and later nine muses.

Hebrew: Nine is pure intelligence ( eight was perfect intellingence ). Also represents truth, since it reproduces itself when multiplied.

Kabbalism nine symbolizes foundation.

Hindu: Nine is the number of Agni, fire. The square of the nine forms the mandala of eighty-one squares and leads to, and encloses the Universe.

Mayan: There are nine underworlds each ruled by a God. We find this reference to “nine underworlds” present in many cultures and beliefs.

Pythagorean: The nine is the limit of all numbers, all others existing and coming from the same. ie: 0 to 9 is all one needs to make up an infinite amount of numbers.

Scandinavian: Odin/Woden hung for nine days and nights on the Yggdrasil to win the secrets of wisdom for humankind. Skeldi, the northern Persephone, the goddess of snow, lives in her mountain for three months and by Niord’s sea for nine months. Nine is the sacred number in Scandinavian-Teutonic symbolism.

So is this day something significant or just another day?

Lot’s of people online believe the day holds tremendous potential. And that belief has brought countless of people together in Oneness. So it’s in Oneness that I share this moment with you. Because you’re more powerful than you could ever imagine.

“For I know that we’re all one.
I’m another you
You’re another me
Me is transformed into We
and we’re all in this together.
So I reach out my hands and care for all of life
And I embrace all of the world
Knowing that I have truly touched
The very essence of my own existence.”

From The Call of the New Paradigm

Here’s a little something from our group The Alliance For An Awakened Humanity to help celebrate the day!

To Renounce or Not Renounce

buddhist-robe-begging-bowl

That was the question posed to the great Ramana Maharshi…

Ramana Maharshi – The life of action need not be Renounced

Question : The yogis say that one must renounce this world and go off into secluded jungles if one wishes to find the truth.
Ramana Maharshi:
The life of action need not be renounced. If you meditate for an hour or two every day you can then carry on with your duties. If you meditate in the right manner then the current of mind induced will continue to flow even in the midst of your work. It is as though there were two ways of expressing the same idea; the same line which you take in meditation will be expressed in your activities Continue Reading…

The Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism

Humanity Healing’s Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism

“Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow has not yet come.
We have only today.
Let us begin.”
~ Mother Theresa

The embrace of the path of Spiritual Activism enables individuals or groups to develop the noble qualities of compassion, wisdom and gratitude. It is in itself a Path of Transformation – a Spiritual Blueprint for living. We can shift our perspectives of reality through seeking service beyond self by practicing the Gifts of Service. The core dynamics behind the Spiritual Keys of Activism are creativity, adaptability, understanding and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Spiritual Activism Key 1

1. All Action MUST be Based on Compassion

When championing a Cause, the mindset must be altruistic and the motivating emotion must be positive. Spiritual Activism is action for the benefit of something, not against something.

“When you have a pro-peace rally, I will be there.”
~ Mother Theresa’s response to a question about why she did not attend an anti-war rally.

Spiritual Activism Key 2

2. Compassion Flows from the Understanding of the Connection Between All Living Beings

We are all connected through our shared Humanity. When you learn to see that our differences are superficial and our similarities manifest, sympathy (or worse, pity) gives way to compassion. Our actions shift from one of “us helping them” to one of “for the good of All”. We become One.

“The whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness of the interdependence of all these living beings, which are all part of one another, and all involved in one another.”
~ Thomas Merton

Spiritual Activism Key 3

3. Compassion Must Be Applied With Wisdom

There are more Causes that exist than an individual or group can possibly be involved with. It is important to choose your causes carefully. Learn to Act instead of React.

“That is true wisdom, to know how to alter one’s mind when occasion demands it.”
~ Terence

Spiritual Activism Key 4

4. Apply Synergy and Teamwork to Accomplish Goals

Synergy is the process where two or more actions combine to produce an effect greater than the sum of its individual parts. Like ripples in a pond, spiritual actions combine and build on each other to magnify an effect beyond what each could do individually. Whenever possible, team up with others to acquire a multifaceted and more holistic approach.

“The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”
~ Unknown

Spiritual Activism Key 5

5. Spiritual Activism is the Pursuit of Service for the Good of All, Not for the Advancement or Benefit of Individuals or Selected Communities

The mindset behind your actions must be noble, holistic, Universal and non-partisan. Be mindful that ego and self-service have no place in Spiritual Activism.

“Common folk, not statesmen, nor generals nor great men of affairs, but just simple plain men and women, can do something to build a better, peaceful world. The future hope of peace lies with such personal service.”
~ Henry Cadbury

“Reverence for Life affords me my fundamental principle of morality, namely, that good consists in maintaining, assisting, and enhancing life and that to destroy, harm, or to hinder life is evil. Affirmation of the world — that is affirmation of the will to live, which appears in phenomenal forms all around me — is only possible for me in that I give myself out for other life.”
~ Albert Schweitzer

Spiritual Activism Key 6

6. Pursue Integrity, Honesty and Dignity in the Conduct of Your Actions

Embrace Mindfulness in the application of your activities and be aware of how your actions may be perceived by others. Machiavelli’s “The ends justify the means” has no place in Spiritual Activism. If our methods are not noble, our results will not be either. Practice Spiritual Transparency, allowing negative energies to bypass your system without harming it.

“Integrity is doing the right thing even if no one is watching.”
~ Unknown

Spiritual Activism Key 7

7. Do not Defame Your Detractors or Those Who Doubt You

A confrontational approach leads to a defensive reaction. Approach others with Openness and Compassion in your heart. Build on the commonalities between you instead of focusing on the differences. As much as possible, detach yourself from the results of your actions. Aspire to always be a Peacemaker.

“Honest differences are often a healthy sign of progress.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

Spiritual Activism Key 8

8. Raising Another Up Raises You Up As Well

Helping another becomes a form of self-love as well as an expression of outward love. This becomes an upwardly spiraling cycle of increasing awareness, connection, compassion, involvement, capacity, and back to increasing awareness.

“Oh, Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.”
~Saint Francis Prayer

“Compassionate action involves working with ourselves as much as working with others.”
~ Pema Chodron

Spiritual Activism Key 9

9. Learn to Listen to Your Heart and Not Your Mind
You mind may only see the problem. Your heart will always feel the solution. Learn to act with Faith and cultivate a loving perception when facing collective problems.

“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Spiritual Activism Key 10

10. Search Out Viable and Sustainable Solutions

Seek out solutions that maintain or restores the dignity of individual human and their communities. The goal of Spiritual Activism is to raise another up, not make them dependant.

“Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”
~ Jesus

“We have not inherited the world from our forefathers. We have borrowed it from our children.”
~ Kashmiri proverb

Spiritual Activism Key 11

11. Do Not Judge Yourself Simply By The Results Of Your Actions
Maintain a sense of detachment as to overall results. Embrace mindfulness as you intentionally diminish a judging attitude while keeping watchfulness on the gates of your heart. The ultimate goal of Spiritual Activism is to unconditionally raise the understanding and support of Humanity, with no exceptions. This achievement is larger than any individual. While individual projects can be completed, the sum is so much greater than its parts. Learn to see yourself not on where you have reached, but on the Path you are traveling. There is real fulfillment in just being called to serve humanitarian and spiritual causes.

“Every man stamps his value on himself. Man is made great or small by his own will.”
~ JCF von Schiller

” The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.”
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Spiritual Activism Key 12

12. Let Metta Be The Motivation For Your Actions
If you cultivate Metta (the practice of loving-kindness) in your heart, you will succeed. The Intention that is the motivating force behind your actions is paramount. Start from a position of pure and altruistic Love.

“A positive future cannot emerge from the mind of anger of despair”
~ Dalai Lama

“Kindness in giving creates Love.”
~ Lao Tzu

Humanity Healing’s 12 Keys of Spiritual Actvism

Spirituality is active. It’s involved in life. It’s alive in living. It’s there in the marketplace. Within the heart of the city it’s there beating it’s drum.

Your spiritual life is your whole life.

What good is it to sit there silent and feeling holy within the comfort and security of your home? This is not true spirituality. This is not truth embodied. Truth seeks out expression. Yes you need the silence. Yes you need the solitude. And this is what you come back to. This is where you lay your hat and your head at the end of the day.

But in the morn a new day is begun. A new you is made. And you’re given another chance to touch the pulse and passion of life with the very essence of existence which is your own very self.

Humanity’s Healing have crafted a beautiful vision of this active life in their Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism. They lifted they veil and gazed deeply into the heart of existence. They are active within the world for they know that the world is active within their self. Check out what they’re up to. You may be inspired.

Be well and prosperous.

THE DECLARATION OF EVOLUTION

by Dr. Timothy Leary, Ph.D.

declaration-evolution

THE DECLARATION OF EVOLUTION

When in the course of organic evolution it becomes obvious that a mutational process is inevitably dissolving the physical and neurological bonds which connect the members of one generation to the past and inevitably directing them to assume among the species of Earth the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God entitle them, a decent concern for the harmony of species requires that the causes of the mutation should be declared.

The Secret to Peace

PeaceThe Secret To Having Peace On Earth

Peace can only be possible once we realize that peace is the only way toward total prosperity. The only sane solutions for our lives are peaceful peaceful solutions.

The only way for Peace to be present within Humanity is for Humanity to be present to the wellspring of Peace that is present within themselves.

“Peace is not something you wish for; It’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.” ~ Robert Fulghum

We have to dedicate ourselves to Peace. To feeling peaceful, to speaking peacefully, to living peacefully. The new dawning Oneness consciousness that’s emerging on the planet will enable the possibility of peace to become a full blown potential that we give birth to in our very own lifetime.

“One little person, giving all of her time to peace, makes news.
Many people, giving some of their time, can make history.”
Peace Pilgrim

Have you heard of the Peace Pilgrim before? She’s a women who dedicated her life to peace.

About Peace Pilgrim

From 1953 to 1981 a silver haired woman calling herself only “Peace Pilgrim” walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. She vowed to “remain a wanderer until mankind has learned the way of peace, walking until given shelter and fasting until given food.” In the course of her 28 year pilgrimage she touched the hearts, minds, and lives of thousands of individuals all across North America.

The Secrets To Peace

The following is an inspirational piece of writing by Saskia Davis entitled the Symptoms of Inner Peace. If we look at them a little differently we can unlock the secret code of peace that lays hidden within the words. She illustrates a series of thought patterns and behaviors that if adopted can unleash the peace presence within us all.

SYMPTOMS OF INNER PEACE™

© 1984 Saskia Davis

A tendency to think and act spontaneously

rather than on fears based on past experience

An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment

A loss of interest in judging other people

A loss of interest in judging self

A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others

A loss of interest in conflict

A loss of ability to worry

Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation

Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature

Frequent attacks of smiling

An increasing tendency to let things happen
rather than to make them happen.

An increased susceptibility to love extended by others
as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it

WARNING: Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace. The hearts of a great many already have been exposed; and it is possible that people, everywhere, could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.

If you have some or all of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition of inner peace may be too far advanced to be curable. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed only at your own risk.

Saskia has the Symptoms of Peace available as a beautiful poster on her website check it out: http://symptomsofinnerpeace.net

By following the above “Symptoms” as Saskia calls them we can follow a path that we know works and leads to Peace. It’s what worked for her and is still working to help influence peace within the world. Even almost thirty years after her death.

Potential Energy

Light Explosion by Mindstep @ deviantART

Light Explosion by Mindstep @ deviantART

You are a rich and creative spiritual being. You can never be less than this. You may frustrate your potential. You may identify with that which is less than what you can be. But within you now and always is the unborn possibility of a limitless experience of inner stability and outer treasures, and yours is the privilege of giving birth to it. And you will, if you can believe.

Eric Butterworth

You may frustrate your potential, what a beautiful expression. We may forget for awhile the fact that at the foundation of our “being” is pure potentiality but eventually we will remember. We will remember that everything is energy and within that is the potential to create whatever it is we set our minds to.

4 Keys To Unlocking & Unleashing Your Potential Energy

The Keys to Unleashing Your Potential Energy

ONENESS - “We have Connection”
Everything and every single person is One with all things, each other and the very source of existence.

LAW“We have Potential”
Our Consciousness creates creation. What we think about we bring about.

TRUTH“We have Purpose.”
We all have our unique voice. Our voice is part of a collective song. True happiness will only come when we sing our song for the benefit of others.

PRESENCE“We have Power.”
Presence is present in this very moment. Now is the moment of our being. This is where the power is. When we live in the present moment time melts away and our brilliant essence shines forth in all existence.

Giving Day 16

Giving-GiveGiving Day 16

“I think the great livers, the people who are fully self-actualizing and alive, are the great givers.” Mark Victor Hansen

As we move forward into our new found power we’ll start to realize that we are boundless and infinite. That there is a plenitude within our person. That the abundance we seek should not be sought for our own benefit alone. And that the truth of giving is in the offering of ourselves.

Give of your time. Give of your words. Give your smile. Give your love. Give yourself. Do
not reserve your giving for those you deem to be fit for your offerings. Where would the benefit be in that? Give to all people.
