Best Day Ever

Ian Paul Marshall —  May 16, 2011

Best Day EverSponge Bob was planning his best day ever, but it all went downhill when he had to help his friends with their problems…

What would your best day ever look like?

Think about it for a second. I’ll wait.

Having trouble?

Try this – deep breath in…

Now answer this question:

If you had the power to create the Best Day Ever (BDE) for yourself what would it look like?

When would your BDE start?

What would you do right after you woke up?

And then after that?

How would you be using your time? You’d have about 16 – 18 hours. So what would be doing with them?

What would be the details of your BDE?

Go through the step by step action plan for your BDE. Write it down. I’ll wait.

Once you get clear on that try this…

Imagine you got to do your BDE all over again. Two BDE’s back to back.

What if you had three BDE’s back to back? Would you be the happiest person in the universe?

If you answered yes, then then try this…

Try doing something today, something small, that will bring you closer to making every day the BDE?

Remember to have fun, make money, and change the world.

Happiness SeriesStumbling On Happiness

“The purpose of life is happiness.” ~ His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

At the start of 2010 I registered to be part of a positive psychology course taught by the famed Tal Ben-Shahar.

My interest in the course was inspired by a scientific study done about happiness. It compelled me to try to delve deep into the depths of what makes us happy.

I registered for the course and set-up a blog called “Happiness How To” (now closed). My intention was to write about my discoveries as I studied and learned all I could from this happiness master.

But that dream was short lived.

Life takes us in unexpected directions and because of new adventures I wasn’t able to attend the course. I still moderate the Happiness How To facebook page that has 1766 members and growing. Click here now and join us and our happy community on facebook.

I wrote a series of posts about happiness that I’ve brought over here and compiled into this Series on Happiness.

It’s my hope that through these pages we can discover the keys to happiness together.

So please join me on my quest to help make the world a happier place. Continue Reading…

Sharing Happiness

How To Be Happy Through The Power of Sharing

We all know someone like this. Maybe it’s you. But when this person shows up in your life you know it.

How?

Because you feel happy.

For me this magical and powerful person’s name is Bill.

Bill works two jobs. One of them in an Aids care facility.

And anyone who meets him will feel his resonant joy, love and happiness.

So what’s Bill’s secret to being happy?

I think Norman MacEwan summed it up perfectly when he said, “Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

And Bill is a giver. Continue Reading…

Happiness Is A Princess Crown

The Art of Personal Happiness

Sometimes happiness is a very personal. Look at my son. What makes him happy is wearing a princess crown. I didn’t understand it at first but it didn’t matter for him.

When he wore that crown he was happy. Smiling all day. Feeling fantastic and majestic. Dare I say, even beautiful (read handsome for you manly men).

We can learn from this little guy doing his own thing. Continue Reading…

There is One Great Impulse. One Driving Force. One Flash of Light and from it all of life has been born.

I am part of that life. I am one with that light. That divine force flows through my own very existence.

In this moment I seek to express the immense greatness that is my self. I call out to the universe and know that it responds to my every desire. Continue Reading…

A simple happiness tip.

Sometimes all we need to do to discover happiness it to relax.

It’s powerful question.

One that releases us into the freedom of the moment and the wellsrping of happiness that hides within us. Continue Reading…

Happiness Is the purpose of life

Happiness Is The Purpose of Life

The Dalai Lama believes the purpose of life is happiness.

He believes this so much that in the very first line of the first chapter of his book The Art of Happiness the Dalai Lama says this about happiness, “I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness.”

If that wasn’t straight to the point I don’t know what is.

He goes on to say this about purpose and happiness, “Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we all are seeking something better in life. So, I think that the very motion of our life is towards happiness…” Continue Reading…

Mr. Happiness The Rapping Monk

Here’s a happiness newsflash.

This just in…

The Buddhist Channel reports that, “A Japanese Buddhist monk is getting down with rap music. Kansho Tagai, aka Happiness Kansho or Mr Happiness, learned to rap at the age of 47, and the shaven-headed chief monk of Tokyo’s Kyooji temple is doing a pretty good job of opening the religious doors to young fans. (video below)

Mr. Happiness Rapping Buddhist Monk

Here’s some of the happy monks lyrics…“I came to this world to help you out of suffering. My name is Shaka Munibutsu (Gautama Siddhartha). Say baby, listen to me. Everyone’s my cute baby. I’m here to help you out of suffering and pain.. .”
