You can heal your lifeYou Can Heal Your Life

by Louise Hay

Ian’s Review of You Can Heal Your Life

I think this book may be a tough pill to swallow for some.

“Thoughts do create things” is pretty much the fundamental premise of this book. And the author delves into the idea so much so that she created a chart that lays out various illnesses and their corresponding thought patterns.

As a hands on healer I see these thought patterns manifesting into illness all the time. Through chat therapy a recurring thought or self-belief usually emerges.

This book, if you’re open to it’s philosophies and premise will change your life. Not only change it but give you tools to transform it easily.

Being Social Can Add Years To Your Life

scLynn Mctaggart, of the Intention Experiment fame, was coming home from the L.A. premier of the Living Matrix movie, which is a great flick, when she stumbled upon an article in Scientific American that answered a question that had burn burning up her consciousness.

The question she asked herself, “What is the X-factor of the group.”

This question came after doing a group healing on a gentleman with prostate cancer.

Ancient Wisdom From The Land Down Under

by Ian Paul Marshall

ancient wisdom for modern awakeningWhen most people think of Australia images of koala bears, crocodile hunters and didgeridoos come to mind. But the land down under is also rich with a spiritual heritage that dates back thousands of years.

To find Australia’s hidden spiritual treasure one must turn their sights away from the countries modern cities and surftowns and journey into the outback in search of an ancient race of people whose stories trace back to the beginning of time itself.

A people that live close to the earth, respecting her sacredness, beauty and wisdom. They view themselves as mere custodians of the planet, nothing is truly theirs, and they do their best to work in harmony with nature and the seasons taking only what they need. A concept that is embodied in the statement “Tread Lightly”

Mercury Retrograde

MPj04331350000[1]

This is to make you aware of the 3rd Mercury Retrograde of the 4 we will be experiencing this year.  This one goes from September 7th-29th.  It will go through the signs of Libra and Virgo.  Mercury Retrogrades represent the planet of communication (Mercury) going through what is termed a “backward” motion.  The planet never does go backward but seems to be when its rotation seems to “slow down” relative to that of earth.  When that happens, it is said that what the planet represents, in this case (communication), is affected adversely, thereby causing delays, frustration or challenges.  In some cases it can represent opportunities.

Mercury will be in the sign of Libra and this can represent challenges or delays in the areas of relations with others, signing contracts, legal matters overall, clarity in understanding situations, and even our own self worth.  Think before you speak, act, or sign is a good motto.  You may have the opportunity to resolve issues that have been lingering or the opportunity to reconnect with someone in that time as well.  You may in fact even find out information that you wished you never did.

Full Moon and Eclipse Aug. 5-6 2009

Everything that rises has to descend.  If the arch of an arrow stretches it must be released. These are laws of equilibrium and duality.  This galactic cycle that is ending now is that of the new Mayan year.  The next galactic cycle is the Magician.  It is the galactic cycle that comes to activate the warriors of light. The energy that takes you toward a higher vibration to prompt you toward the light.  It is like the confusion prior to an eclipse.

All the animals become noisy and are confused. In the case of the human beings that have not done any personal work of awareness, they are going to feel the energy stonger leading to exhaustion, headaches, anger, discussions. This energy guides each and everyone of you to self understanding.  Therefore the importance of inner purification before the eclipse, so that each may benefit from this energy. Prepare your body, cleansing your “house” to receive the new energy.  The challenge of the galactic cycle is to balance the duality through the vision of service, knowing when to say “yes” or “no”.

The Eagle is the most important force for the warrior representing the Vision. The Vision towards Mother Earth that comes through the synchronicity of situations which She brings us and the correct use of your free will on behalf of the Light. The lunar eclipse falls on the day of Lunar Eagle.  That is the vision of the moon.

The Call Of The New Paradigm

© Ian Paul Marshall

I give thanks for this precious moment,
This chance to be alive.
For life is sacred, special, and a fragile thing.

Realizing that it may end at any moment
I give thanks for all that I have
And strive to live each day to the fullest.

I have come to realize the power that is within me.
That my former thoughts, words and actions
Became my present state
And right now, in this moment, I’m creating my future.

The Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism

Humanity Healing’s Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism

“Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow has not yet come.
We have only today.
Let us begin.”
~ Mother Theresa

The embrace of the path of Spiritual Activism enables individuals or groups to develop the noble qualities of compassion, wisdom and gratitude. It is in itself a Path of Transformation – a Spiritual Blueprint for living. We can shift our perspectives of reality through seeking service beyond self by practicing the Gifts of Service. The core dynamics behind the Spiritual Keys of Activism are creativity, adaptability, understanding and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Spiritual Activism Key 1

1. All Action MUST be Based on Compassion

When championing a Cause, the mindset must be altruistic and the motivating emotion must be positive. Spiritual Activism is action for the benefit of something, not against something.

“When you have a pro-peace rally, I will be there.”
~ Mother Theresa’s response to a question about why she did not attend an anti-war rally.

Spiritual Activism Key 2

2. Compassion Flows from the Understanding of the Connection Between All Living Beings

We are all connected through our shared Humanity. When you learn to see that our differences are superficial and our similarities manifest, sympathy (or worse, pity) gives way to compassion. Our actions shift from one of “us helping them” to one of “for the good of All”. We become One.

“The whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness of the interdependence of all these living beings, which are all part of one another, and all involved in one another.”
~ Thomas Merton

Spiritual Activism Key 3

3. Compassion Must Be Applied With Wisdom

There are more Causes that exist than an individual or group can possibly be involved with. It is important to choose your causes carefully. Learn to Act instead of React.

“That is true wisdom, to know how to alter one’s mind when occasion demands it.”
~ Terence

Spiritual Activism Key 4

4. Apply Synergy and Teamwork to Accomplish Goals

Synergy is the process where two or more actions combine to produce an effect greater than the sum of its individual parts. Like ripples in a pond, spiritual actions combine and build on each other to magnify an effect beyond what each could do individually. Whenever possible, team up with others to acquire a multifaceted and more holistic approach.

“The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”
~ Unknown

Spiritual Activism Key 5

5. Spiritual Activism is the Pursuit of Service for the Good of All, Not for the Advancement or Benefit of Individuals or Selected Communities

The mindset behind your actions must be noble, holistic, Universal and non-partisan. Be mindful that ego and self-service have no place in Spiritual Activism.

“Common folk, not statesmen, nor generals nor great men of affairs, but just simple plain men and women, can do something to build a better, peaceful world. The future hope of peace lies with such personal service.”
~ Henry Cadbury

“Reverence for Life affords me my fundamental principle of morality, namely, that good consists in maintaining, assisting, and enhancing life and that to destroy, harm, or to hinder life is evil. Affirmation of the world — that is affirmation of the will to live, which appears in phenomenal forms all around me — is only possible for me in that I give myself out for other life.”
~ Albert Schweitzer

Spiritual Activism Key 6

6. Pursue Integrity, Honesty and Dignity in the Conduct of Your Actions

Embrace Mindfulness in the application of your activities and be aware of how your actions may be perceived by others. Machiavelli’s “The ends justify the means” has no place in Spiritual Activism. If our methods are not noble, our results will not be either. Practice Spiritual Transparency, allowing negative energies to bypass your system without harming it.

“Integrity is doing the right thing even if no one is watching.”
~ Unknown

Spiritual Activism Key 7

7. Do not Defame Your Detractors or Those Who Doubt You

A confrontational approach leads to a defensive reaction. Approach others with Openness and Compassion in your heart. Build on the commonalities between you instead of focusing on the differences. As much as possible, detach yourself from the results of your actions. Aspire to always be a Peacemaker.

“Honest differences are often a healthy sign of progress.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

Spiritual Activism Key 8

8. Raising Another Up Raises You Up As Well

Helping another becomes a form of self-love as well as an expression of outward love. This becomes an upwardly spiraling cycle of increasing awareness, connection, compassion, involvement, capacity, and back to increasing awareness.

“Oh, Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.”
~Saint Francis Prayer

“Compassionate action involves working with ourselves as much as working with others.”
~ Pema Chodron

Spiritual Activism Key 9

9. Learn to Listen to Your Heart and Not Your Mind
You mind may only see the problem. Your heart will always feel the solution. Learn to act with Faith and cultivate a loving perception when facing collective problems.

“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Spiritual Activism Key 10

10. Search Out Viable and Sustainable Solutions

Seek out solutions that maintain or restores the dignity of individual human and their communities. The goal of Spiritual Activism is to raise another up, not make them dependant.

“Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”
~ Jesus

“We have not inherited the world from our forefathers. We have borrowed it from our children.”
~ Kashmiri proverb

Spiritual Activism Key 11

11. Do Not Judge Yourself Simply By The Results Of Your Actions
Maintain a sense of detachment as to overall results. Embrace mindfulness as you intentionally diminish a judging attitude while keeping watchfulness on the gates of your heart. The ultimate goal of Spiritual Activism is to unconditionally raise the understanding and support of Humanity, with no exceptions. This achievement is larger than any individual. While individual projects can be completed, the sum is so much greater than its parts. Learn to see yourself not on where you have reached, but on the Path you are traveling. There is real fulfillment in just being called to serve humanitarian and spiritual causes.

“Every man stamps his value on himself. Man is made great or small by his own will.”
~ JCF von Schiller

” The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.”
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Spiritual Activism Key 12

12. Let Metta Be The Motivation For Your Actions
If you cultivate Metta (the practice of loving-kindness) in your heart, you will succeed. The Intention that is the motivating force behind your actions is paramount. Start from a position of pure and altruistic Love.

“A positive future cannot emerge from the mind of anger of despair”
~ Dalai Lama

“Kindness in giving creates Love.”
~ Lao Tzu

Humanity Healing’s 12 Keys of Spiritual Actvism

Spirituality is active. It’s involved in life. It’s alive in living. It’s there in the marketplace. Within the heart of the city it’s there beating it’s drum.

Your spiritual life is your whole life.

What good is it to sit there silent and feeling holy within the comfort and security of your home? This is not true spirituality. This is not truth embodied. Truth seeks out expression. Yes you need the silence. Yes you need the solitude. And this is what you come back to. This is where you lay your hat and your head at the end of the day.

But in the morn a new day is begun. A new you is made. And you’re given another chance to touch the pulse and passion of life with the very essence of existence which is your own very self.

Humanity’s Healing have crafted a beautiful vision of this active life in their Twelve Keys of Spiritual Activism. They lifted they veil and gazed deeply into the heart of existence. They are active within the world for they know that the world is active within their self. Check out what they’re up to. You may be inspired.

Be well and prosperous.

The Cathar Prophecy

cathar prophecy

The Prophecy of the Cathars 1244

And the Cathars proclaimed that…

It has no fabric, only understanding.
It has no membership save those who know they belong.
It has no rivals, because it is non-competitive.
It has no ambition, because it only seeks to serve.
It knows of no boundaries, for nationalisms are unloving.
It is not of itself, because it seeks to enrich all groups and religions
It acknowledges all great teachers of all the ages who have shown the truth of love.
Those who participate practice the truth of love in all their beings.
There is no walk of life or nationality that is a barrier. Those who are, know.
It seeks not to teach, but to be – and by being, enrich. It recognizes that the way we are may be the way of those around us, because we are that way.
It recognizes the whole planet as a being of which we are a part.
It recognizes that the time has come for the supreme transition, the ultimate alchemical act of conscious change of the ego into the voluntary return to the whole.
It does not proclaim itself with a loud voice but in the subtle realms of loving.
It salutes all those in the past who have blazoned the path but have paid the price.
It admits no hierarchy or structure, for no one is greater than another.
The members shall know each other by their deeds, and their being, and by their eyes and by no other sign save the fraternal embrace.
Each one will dedicate their life to the silent loving of their neighbor and environment and our world, while carrying out their daily task, no matter how humble.
It recognizes the supremacy of the great ideal, which may only be accomplished if the human race practices the supremacy of Love.
It has no reward to offer, either here or in the hereafter, save that of the ineffable joy of being and loving.
Each shall seek to advance the cause of understanding, doing good by stealth and teaching only by example.
They shall heal their neighbor, their community and their world.
They shall know no fear and feel no shame and their witness shall prevail over all odds.
It has no secret, no Arcanum, no initiation, save that of true understanding of the power of love and that, if we want to be so, the world will change if we change ourselves first.
All those who belong, do so because they belong to the Church of Love.

Reiki Prinicples PreceptsThe 5 Reiki Precepts – Principles

Reiki is a beautiful and gentle path to enlightenment and a healing system. At the heart of that path is Dr. Mikao Usui’s 5 simple Reiki Principles or Precepts. These are said by the followers of Reiki daily.

These Are The Five Reiki Principles or Precepts

By Dr. Mikao Usui

Reiki Principle/Precept 1

Just for today, I will not be angry.

Reiki Principle/Precept 2

Just for today, I will not worry.

Reiki Principle/Precept 3

Just for today, I will be grateful.

Reiki Principle/Precept 4

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Reiki Principle/Precept 5

Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

The Reiki Principle/Precepts developed by Dr. Mikao Usui are a very simple and beautiful guiding light that has helped countless people all over the world to transform their lives completely.

For me I created an adapted set of Reiki Principles or Precepts. Just a simple change of focus.

Adapted Reiki Principles or Precepts

by Ian Paul Marshall

Reiki Principle/Precept 1

Just for today I am filled with Peace

Reiki Principle/Precept 2

Just for today I trust completely

Reiki Principle/Precept 3

Just for today, I am grateful for my life and everything in it.

Reiki Principle/Precept 4

Just for today, I am honest and enthusiastic .

Reiki Principle/Precept 5

Just for today, I am kind to everyone and every thing.

A Slight Change Of Focus For The Reiki Principle/Precepts

I personally tweeked Dr. Mikao Usui’s system so that my focus was on the positive rather than the negative. As you can see in Reiki Principle 1 the original had us trying not to be angry while instead an easier way to shift our consciousness is to focus on Peace instead.

Just minor changes that help us transform our lives and all the world around us. I’m personally and eternally grateful to Dr. Mikao Usui. His beautiful healing and enlightening system or path changed my life completely.

For the week I recommend working with the adapted principles as affirmations. Say them morning and night and see what happens. Who knows, maybe you’ll like them enough to incorporate them into your life completely.

Peace, Love, and Prosperity.
